The Value of Storytelling (90 min)

Humans are wired to be drawn to storytelling: it is not only an activity, but a skillset, and has the potential to be a cultural event.

Join us as we weave a story of how the education business can learn from the film industry.

Mark Ulano

Mark Ulano (born June 12, 1954) is an American sound engineer. He has won an Academy Award for Best Sound and has been nominated for three in the same category. He has worked on more than 120 films since 1975.

Patrushkha Mierzwa

Patrushkha Mierzwa is one of the first women boom operators in Hollywood, having started in 1980. She has worked on over 80 movies and television projects for major directors including Robert Rodriquez, Quentin Tarantino, James Gray, and Robert Altman. She has been a judge for the Emmys, an IATSE Local 695 Director, and lectures at film universities around the world. Along with an impressive 40+ year career, Ms. Mierzwa has the distinction of being part of the sound crew to have 2 Oscar-nominated movies in the same awards season. (Ad Astra, Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood) and latest credits include I Wanna Dance with Somebody and Killers of the Flower Moon.
